A short story about us

My name is George, and I am in my early 40s. I work as a non-IT engineer with a deep interest in personal finance, always seeking to understand the mechanics of investing and wealth-building—and how a family can retire comfortably on a middle-class income. As a Texas-based father of two lively children, I treasure the time we share, whether we’re traveling on family vacations or simply enjoying quiet evenings at home. To supplement travel costs and preserve cash for investing, I dove into the world of credit card rewards; over the past decade, this has enabled five international family trips, a trip to Hawaii, and multiple road trips with most major expenses covered by miles and points.

With a clear vision for the future, we are pursuing financial independence with a goal to retire by 58, giving us the freedom to spend more quality time with loved ones and chase passions like travel. We’ve reached Coast FIRE (where our current savings will grow to cover our retirement without needing to add another cent) through consistent saving and investing. I am documenting what we’ve achieved so far, along with our strategic plan to cross the finish line, in the hope that our journey encourages you to take confident steps toward your own path to financial independence.
